Paws for a Cause 2015
By VanEastVet, on Monday, June 29th, 2015
This fall you can do your part to help fight animal cruelty by fundraising for the Scotiabank & BC SPCA Paws for a Cause Walk. Paws for a Cause is one of the biggest and highest-profile fundraising events you can support to help end animal cruelty in BC and, as the saying goes, every donation matters. From the SPCA site:
Donations to the Scotiabank & BC SPCA Paws for a Cause event will fund our animal welfare programs and services including: emergency rescue and care, health checks and medical treatment, cruelty investigation, advocacy, humane education, and of course, shelter and adoption services for homeless animals. The funds you raise will stay in your community and support your local BC SPCA branch and animals.
That’s a whole lot of good work the BC SPCA is doing to help out our furry friends. Are you feeling inspired yet to help the cause? You are? Well that’s good, because here’s how you can help:
1. If you’d like to register to walk, you can visit the Paws for a Cause site to sign up, and start fundraising right away!
2. If you know someone in the walk and you would like to donate, visit the Paws for a Cause donation page, and be sure to give generously!
3. Paws for a Cause is largely volunteer-powered, so if you would like to volunteer your time, visit the Paws for a Cause volunteer page to find out how you can help out.
That’s a whole lot of ways you can help out, and you don’t even need a dog in order to participate. Sign up! Take a stimulating walk! Get some fresh air! Get some sunshine! See a whole bunch of dogs (and the people walking them)! There are a thousand good reasons to help the cause, and with more than 30 walks across the province to choose from, you really have no excuse not to help. Every location is putting their own spin on the proceedings, with different games and food and prizes, so find one that is near you and sign up now!
